The highly anticipated mobile game, MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY will be finally released in the west on August 3 for iOS & Android devices.
MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY is a smartphone-based RPG of unprecedented quality being handled by Business Division 1. Produced by Yoshinori Kitase, written by Kazushige Nojima and led by Project Leader Naoki Hamaguchi with Art Director Toshitaka Matsuda, Character Designer Toshiyuki Itahana and Composer Mitsuto Suzuki.
The game begun development in late 2013 with the concept of a mobile game on a similar level to a console game. Some assets were outsourced but the majority of development was handled by Business Division 1.
The game uses the Unity 5 engine and was released in Japan on June 4, 2015 for iOS & Android devices.
The team for the title was much smaller than of a normal title of this graphical quality due to the title’s much smaller budget. The team had only one background artist and three character designers.
Among the game’s other staff are Yui Sawada (Lead Planner), Yoichi Seki (Menu Director) & Shirakami Takeshi (Battle Planner).
MOBIUS FINAL FANTASY has achieved over three million downloads in Japan and was among the Apple App Store’s top games in 2015 for Japan.
